Tours for the General Public

The Benjamin Iveagh Library may be visited as part of the guided tour of Farmleigh House. Groups of up to twenty may apply for a visit which includes a tour of the Benjamin Iveagh Library, but this must be arranged in advance by contacting the OPW Librarian either by telephone on +353 46 942 2286, or by email at Visitors only see the Library in this visit, not contents of any books.


The Benjamin Iveagh Library is open for use by suitably qualified scholars, third-level students, and independent researchers. A full electronic catalogue of the collection may be viewed online via Marsh’s Library.

Applications to carry out research in the Benjamin Iveagh Library may be made to the Keeper of Marsh’s Library.

It is not possible for readers to visit the Benjamin Iveagh Library without a prior appointment.
