Haunted Homes: The Contemporary Uncanny in Words, Music and Performance

For her final event as 2017 Farmleigh Writer-in-Residence, Mia Gallagher invites you to join her for a special Hallowe’en-tide evening that will cast a strange new light on the realm of the uncanny. Offering their uniquely contemporary visions of hauntings, longings, obsessions – and the creatures of the night that get under your skin and into your soul – will be some of Ireland’s most exciting talents in the worlds of literature, music and theatre. The line-up includes spell-binding singer/actor Bronagh Gallagher (who first sprang to fame in The Commitments), darkly bewitching writer June Caldwell, whose sensational debut Room Little Darker has been garnering acclaim and readers in equally impressive measure, and a short extract from Philip St John’s marvellously creepy and beguiling play, ‘Temptress’.

Dressing-up is encouraged. Come as your favourite ghost, monster, sorceress or other dark thing.

This event is FREE to attend. To apply for tickets click here farmleighinfo@opw.ie. Winners will receive two free tickets. Please note that only winners will be notified. The closing date for the ticket entry is Monday 16th October at 5pm.
