The Irish Wolfhound Club of Ireland, founded in 1908, presents the Championship Irish Wolfhound Dog Show at Farmleigh Estate, Sunday 9th June from 11.30am.

A symbol of Irish culture and heritage, the Irish wolfhound is generally accepted to be the oldest Irish breed of dog. Originally bred to hunt large animals, these gentle giants feature in Irish mythology, folklore and art.

The aim of the Irish Wolfhound Club is “to encourage and promote the Irish Wolfhound, the National Dog of Ireland, by adherence to our breed standard in breeding strong, healthy dogs that are fit for purpose and true to form, while at all times championing good care and responsible ownership of our Ancient and Noble Breed.”

Please remember to keep all dogs on leads while visiting Farmleigh Estate.
